Town Mountain will release their third studio project Steady Operator on May 10th from Pinecastle Records. Produced by GRAMMY Award winner Mike Bub (Del McCoury Band), the album features bluegrass originals written by band members Jesse Langlais and two-time IBMA Songwriter Showcase selection Phil Barker. They've played national festival stages like Merlefest (where they'll back the legendary Jim Lauderdale during his bluegrass set this year), Rockygrass, and Pickathon.
Born out of the all night jam sessions and fertile picking scene of western North Carolina, Town Mountain has emerged as one of the premier young American bluegrass bands. With great original material about topics ranging from love lost and heartache, to the weariness of a midnight drive across America's heartland, to environmental commentary on mountainside development, Town Mountain's music is sincere, honest, and heartfelt.
This is the hard driving, no nonsense bluegrass that makes you stomp and holler. Steeped in traditional style, but with enough rough-around-the-edges energy to appeal to fans outside the genre as well. Town Mountain is a bluegrass band not to be missed.
